For trans and gender expansive folks\, these transitions can bring up complex feelings and a lot of grief. That grief needs time\, space and community care.  \nIn this 90-minute virtual webinar\, participants will learn from a racialized nonbinary birthing person\, doula and perinatal counsellor about how to create that time\, space and supportive\, affirming care through: \n\nContextualizing trans and gender expansive postpartum grief\nTeaching practical skills for nervous system regulation\nTools for processing grief \nHow to mobilize the village and call them in for care- don’t worry you will still be needed!\nStrategies for sustaining your own well-being as a care provider\n\nWho is it for?\nThis webinar is for doulas\, birth workers or anyone supporting trans and gender expansive birthing folks during the postpartum period. \nDetails: This virtual webinar takes place on April 17\, 2026 at 12pm – 1:30pm EDT.\n  \nAbout the presenter: Nat Turnbull\nNat Turnbull\, they/them\, is a Black Queer full-spectrum doula\, health educator and multi-disciplinary artist. They have supported families and people moving through many life events\, starting with fertility\, pregnancy/birth\, gender transition all the way to end of life care. Nat specializes in textiles including sewing and crochet\, they are passionate about creating art for art sake\, art as activism\, and art expression as a way of supporting community health and moving through complex emotions. Community care work is ingrained in their culture\, and they have practiced it since childhood. They truly believe that access to community care has healing powers. Nat is passionate about helping clients feel informed\, heard and supported through life’s challenging events. They understand the impact that holistic support offers and how nonjudgemental witnessing can have a positive effect on moving through challenging moments and the emotions that arise when navigating new life circumstances\, helping clients step into feeling confident facing life’s challenges. Born and raised on the shared traditional territory of the Anishnaabe and Haudenosaunee Peoples. This land is part of the Dish with One Spoon Wampum\, and is under the Haldimand Treaty of 1784\, colonial known as Kitchener-Waterloo to a white settler and Jamaican migrant\, Nat is now a settler on Treaty 13 territory\, colonially known as Toronto. \n  \nThis webinar is free to members and alumni of Doula School\, Discover Birth\, and The Nesting Place and is $35 for external participants.
