Sometimes as a new doula it may be what we feel most apprehensive about. If you’ve done your coursework all online you may feel like you’re “missing out” on something important. The truth is you’ve been helping people around you your whole life and it will all feel so ‘intuitive’ and ‘normal’ when you are at a birth or postpartum shift. But we want to give you additional skills you can use in your prenatal visits and at births and pp shifts to help you feel even MORE confident. That’s why we call it a live virtual BOOSTER because it’s meant to “boost” your existing skills. \nPostpartum Doula Booster November 19\, 2026 (6pm-8pm Eastern time)\nOver the 2 hour booster we will cover: \n\nInfant bathing\nInfant soothing\nLactation position support\nBabywearing at a client’s house (wrap review)\nPostpartum scenarios and how to best support a client\n\nBirth Doula Booster November 14\, 2026 (12pm-3pm Eastern time)\nOver the 3 hour booster we will cover: \n\nBreathing techniques\nComfort measures\nDouble hip squeeze\nPushing techniques and positions\nRelaxation activities\nMindfulness practices\nPrenatal visit activities to introduct these concepts to clients BEFORE labour\nScenario reviews (time permitting)\n\nWe ask that you bring a partner to your hands-on skills session. This is important as you really need someone to practice on. This can be any person\, any gender\, any age (as long as they are old enough to give you feedback). \nThings To Have On Hand\nPlease feel free to bring as many of these things as you have available at home. Don’t stress too much if you’re missing a few things. You do NOT need to go out and buy them (though you may want them for your prenatal visits anyhow) \nFor Birth Booster\n\nIce cubes (made but leave in freezer until we tell you to grab them)\nRolling pin/empty wine bottle\, full soda can (anything that can be used for rolling type of massage)\nHand cream or massage oil\nBlanket/towel\nExtra pillows\nExercise ball (if you have one)\nComb\nCandies/mints\nItems from your house that make your environment feel warm and cozy (candles\, music\, etc)\nPlease note: Participation in the Booster Workshops requires a practice partner for the hands-on skills portion. If you do not have a partner available\, we kindly ask that you refrain from registering for this workshop date.\n\nFor Postpartum Booster\n\nDoll to practice on\nInfant swaddle (can be a large muslin cloth type or an actual velcro swaddler)\nFacecloths\nAnything else you’d like explained!\n\nFees\nThis course is FREE to any Doula Canada students who have purchased a self-directed course. The VIRTUAL  workshop creates the opportunity for students to learn\, hold space\, and boost their confidence alongside peers and our experienced team of instructors. \nThe workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. eastern time every day.
