WHAT ARE THE PRE-REQUISITES FOR SACRED BIRTH PYTT?

The prerequisites for the online yoga teacher trainings is only that you must be passionate and inspired to create a community of likeminded people who want to help support and guide other birthers safely through the practice of yoga. We only ask that you are dedicated and feel compelled to answer this very sacred call.

DO I NEED A 200 HOUR CERTIFICATION TO TAKE THE COURSE?

It is helpful to have prior teaching experience but isn’t necessary. Much of the course and the postures are referred to in Sanskrit and English terminology. It’s certainly recommended to have a previous practice of the asana or postures as the course content will flow with more ease and understanding and be able to assimilate the information more quickly.

IS THIS A YOGA ALLIANCE CERTIFIED PROGRAM?

Yes! The Yoga Alliance has granted approval to lead a Virtual 85 hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training. Our sister school Awakened Spirit Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) for the 200 Hour, 300 Hour, and 85 Hour Prenatal levels. Upon successful completion of one of the previously mentioned programs, you are eligible to register with the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), and will be certified to teach yoga internationally. Once you’ve met all the requirements of the 85 hr Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training you’ll receive a certificate of completion and you will receive the designation of RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) once you complete their requirement of 30 hours of instruction.

WHAT IS THE PACE OF THE COURSE AND TIME COMMITMENT?

We understand completely the demands and importance of family, tending to small children while juggling work and day-to-day demands. The online yoga teacher training courses allow you to work at your own pace by reviewing the videos and moving through the course manual and workbook at your own time.

If you’d like to complete it as quickly as possible we recommend dedicating about 10 hours per week for 9-10 weeks.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M NOT DONE MY 200 HOUR YTT BEFORE BEGINNING THE COURSE?

Once you complete your 200 hour YTT you can retroactively register with the Yoga Alliance. It will still count!
