WEBINAR: Doula Grand Rounds October 2025

Every fertility, birth, postpartum, and loss experience is unique. We learn something new with each birther, baby, and family. Imagine how much we could increase our knowledge and skills if we had a forum to share what we learn. The lessons we learn from our clients are invaluable for putting theory into practice.

Description/workshop overview: 

In this dynamic, peer-led learning forum, DTC students, alums, and Discover Birth & The Nesting Place staff will be able to show and tell what they learn on the job. Using the “Grand Rounds” model pioneered in medical schools, doulas will present a case that expanded their knowledge and inspired professional growth. Each presentation providing a brief, anonymized overview of the scenario and lessons learned will be followed by a discussion and Q&A.

By sharing our experiences this way we will:

• Expand our understanding of the diversity of the perinatal journey.
• Build a mental database of strategies to troubleshoot challenges
• Draw solidarity and strength from our fellow birth workers
• Have an opportunity to debrief, brainstorm, and bounce ideas off each other

This session is ideal for experience-based learners who thrive on concrete examples to consolidate their learning. Recognizing that learning is ongoing, birth workers at all learning and career stages are welcome to share and learn from one another.

If you would like to present on a case, please register first for the event, then complete the “Presentation Request Form” link in your confirmation email. 

This webinar is offered freely to members and alumni of DTC, Discover Birth, and The Nesting Place and is $30 for external participants. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance that can be used as 1 CEU (continuing education units).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
